Also with Altered.

For more details contact +918657523588.

About Interstellar Funk:
Under the Interstellar Funk alias, DJ/producer Olf van Elden is fast becoming a staple feature of club and festival line-ups worldwide. His rise has not been dizzyingly rapid, but rather built on a decade spent honing his craft in the record shops, studios and dancefloors of Amsterdam.

Van Elden’s ascent in underground electronic music culture has not come as a surprise to those within Amsterdam’s club scene. He was wowing home crowds long before he bagged a sought-after residency at now-departed venue Trouw, and more recently at it’s widely beloved successor De School.

What marks out Interstellar Funk productions and DJ sets is van Elden’s love of the imperfections and eccentricities associated with left-of-centre analogue machine music. You’ll hear them within the new wave, electro, techno, jack-tracks, heavy electronics and everything in between that populate his DJ sets, as well as the solo records he’s released on Dekmantel, Berceuse Heroique and Rush Hour, the label, store and distribution company he’s been associated with since 2013.

Van Elden continually sets out to combine the unlikely, which can also be heard in his Private Eyes single for Young Marco’s SafeTrip label, and through the lo-fi murkiness of his Faster Action project on L.I.E.S. Finally, there’s his own Artificial Dance label, an outlet for new and old electronic music that fits into the DJ/producer’s intoxicating, otherworldly aesthetic.

It may have only begun a short time ago, but in just a few years she's accomplished more than most hope to achieve in a lifetime. Brighton born, London bred, and now Berlin based, by her early twenties BEC has rocked floors at top clubs from London, to Hong Kong, to Berlin and Barcelona to name but a few. Becoming a firm favorite with club crowds and the industries elite the world over isn't an easy task, but with her infectious charisma and a vividly distinct sound spanning the vast spaces of grooving, cerebral Techno, BEC is able to do it with ease. Now it's time for her to transport her undeniably contagious sound from live set to release. BEC is just getting started and if her record thus far is any indication, we can expect her to be at the forefront of the scene for many years to come.

Kitty Ko presents Jeremy Underground (France)
Kitty Ko
List
Open
Event Flyer

RSVP on our guestlist.

Supported Robby & Sidvicious.

Jeremy Underground first gained attention through My Love Is Underground. His vinyl-only label, launched in 2010, helped revive a particular style of pneumatic, '90s-inspired house. He slowly gained a reputation as a major house nerd, a man with encyclopedic knowledge of Kerri Chandler B-sides and little-known American record labels. He also displayed a broader love of music. On his YouTube channel, he shared an array of obscure jazz, soul and disco from around the world. He also dropped fantastic home-listening mixes. In 2013, I saw him play at Plastic People, spinning an amazing set of mysterious rare grooves alongside Floating Points and Red Greg. I was left with the distinct impression that Jeremy was an excellent house DJ but perhaps an even better soul and funk DJ.

Beauty is Jeremy's first downtempo compilation. His credentials to curate such a release are matched by Claremont, whose Originals compilation series was one of the decade's best. Beauty is the second release from the Claremont sub-label Spacetalk, which is run by Psychemagik's Danny McLewin. The pair met after Jeremy's soul and funk set in Maceo's, a crew bar run by Block 9. Danny was impressed, a friendship was born and the decision to make the compilation was solidified there and then.

Beauty features some of the best records Jeremy has discovered so far. The music is often pleasingly difficult to categorise. There's Sonya Spence's "Let Love Flow On," a soul track that features Jamaican musicians who usually perform in ska and reggae bands. There's Starcrost's "Quicksand," which has a folksy, soul-jazz vibe, Leila Pinheiro's bossa nova-rooted disco and Christer Norden's funky library music. The pick of Beauty might be "Hardly Need To Say." This mind-blowing smoky soul cut would have been a huge hit had it been released on a big label, as opposed to a tiny company from Glassboro, New Jersey.

Supported by Stalvart John & DJ Mikey.

For more details contact 08030527777.

The Dutch duo put out most of their music through their own label Heist Recordings and have quickly gained popularity through their early releases like “The Wrap around”, and “The Break up”. Their more recent output sees them explore the broader corners of electronic music with the dreamy “Tamarindus Hollandicus”, and the sample-heavy “Just not Norma”. They’ve collaborated with and done remixes for artists like Tom Misch, Kerri Chandler, Mayer Hawthorne, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Hercules & Love Affair and Seven Davis Jr.As avid record collectors of both old and new music, their DJ style is as varied as their taste in music. Rather not limiting themselves to a certain sound, Detroit Swindle will play just about anything. So whether it’s classic house, obscure disco, African funk or any other genre from across the globe: if it puts a smile on your face, they’ll play it.They run their house-focused label Heist Recordings since 2013. Heist has featured music from artists such as Frits Wentink, Pépé Bradock, Nachtbraker, Matthew Herbert, Ge-Ology, Byron the Aquarius, Adryiano, Alma Negra, Nebraska, Max Graef, Fouk and many more. They carefully curate the label’s output as well as it’s look & feel, working closely with visual artist Bas Koopmans to match their personal aesthetics. The label is not only a showcase of their particular sonic view, it’s also a meeting place for likeminded artists. Their artists are brought together by the duo with label showcases and special projects such as the yearly Roundup EP; a tradition where every artist of that year remixes another artist, effectuated by the luck of the draw. With residencies throughout 2018 at clubs Like Berlin’s Prince Charles and Phonox in London, their sophomore album “High Life” coming out May 2018, and a world tour with their new live show following that release, it’ll be hard to miss them this year.

Rodriguez Jr. reveals a different incarnation of Mateu’s musical psyche, one that strides ahead, guided only by his kaleidoscopic vision; moving through shimmering, contemplative electronica, to deep and urgent techno, left field melodic accents and quirky pop refrains. Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Stockhausen, LFO, Carl Craig, Eric Satie, Kraftwerk, and Michael Polnareff, Rodriguez Jr.’s spirit of adventure translates as soaring creativity, and music that cannot be pigeonholed.

Adam Kaye and George Townsend had shot from schoolmates to a worldwide touring act soon after signing their first record deal aged 17. Early singles ‘Gold’, ‘All I See’ and ‘Giving It All’ brought them radio hits, festival slots and tours in the UK and around the world. But soon after, they hit a hurdle. Locked into a major label deal, their heads buzzing with ideas they couldn’t bring to life, Bondax had thoughts of change, and even packing it all in, after too many nights on tour and half a lifetime of living in each other’s pockets.

Instead, they took a leap of faith and started all over again – and the result is Revolve, a radical makeover and a glittering calling card for two young producers who’ve truly hit their stride. Ambitious, eclectic and irresistibly tuneful, their debut album is a heartfelt homage to the music that made them and the world they’ve discovered since their breakout success.

When Bondax broke through five years ago, their sun-drenched dance-pop was the perfect platform for collaborators like Tanya Lacey, Joe Janiak and Karma Kid, and that breezy sound was captured at its peak on the duo’s 25-track mix album, Bondax & Friends – but Adam and George knew they had much more in their arsenal than sleek radio hits. And when you’ve spent almost every day together for three years, “you’ve got to work that shit out like a marriage,” laughs Adam. “There was a period of time where we didn't actually enjoy DJing at all,” remembers George. “But we decided to stick it through – ‘we felt we had some unfinished business & many ideas than hadn't be realised.”

Over time Victor Ruiz has grown, not only his production skills but also in his sets, a breath of fresh air to the listener.

When he first stepped into a recording studio his first steps were to reinterpret his roots in a more contemporary way. Besides that fact that he lives in Bavaria and is a successful DJproducer, remarkably little is known about him. He has long been recognized as an accomplished DJ—he travels extensively, though rarely can he be found on the popular festival circuit—but as a producer, he has been nothing short of prolific. A quick Google search exposes a number of his most lauded works—including 2014’s “Steady Note” and 2015’s “Hot In The Fridge”—and a scan of his Discogs page will also reveal a considerable wealth of further material, much of which continues to be played out by many of the world’s leading selectors.

Monoloc : Given his releases on some of techno music's most prominent labels, many will already be familiar with Monoloc. Growing up in Frankfurt, the German native spent his earlier years emerged in the city's punk scene. Only around the age of 16/17 did he become interested in electronic music, inspiring him to start mixing records at birthday parties and bars around the city. Production didn't come until several years later: set on making the music he was playing out, he hired out his first studio space and spent the ensuing six years searching for his own sound before sharing a string of releases through 2008 and 2009. “It was the first time I had showed my work to anyone,” he says. And this proved only to be the start: having become friends with Chris Liebing's CLR crew, he went on to release several EPs and his debut LP on the label, quickly rising to acclaim through his brooding, sophisticated blend of house and techno. This was, he says, an invaluable period in his career during which refined his both his style and sound as a producer and a DJ.
